About Me

I am Adriana Aristizabal, a former TV war correspondent from Colombia. My journey has taken me from covering the storm of war to becoming a trailblazer in public relations. Having faced death threats from a former terrorist group, I was compelled to leave my home country and embark on a new life as an immigrant in the United States. However, I refused to let adversity shape my path. Instead, I harnessed my experience and passion for storytelling to establish iVoice Communications, a global PR agency headquartered in New York City. My initial fascination with journalism was rooted in its potential to illuminate vital social and political issues. As a war correspondent, I witnessed the media's immense influence in shaping public perspectives and driving societal transformation. Yet, I recognized a gap in the media landscape – a void where traditional news outlets sometimes fell short in effectively conveying the stories of the individuals I encountered. My journey from war correspondent to entrepreneur inspires those navigating adversity and endeavoring to reinvent themselves. Despite the hurdles I encountered as an immigrant, I have left a profound imprint in my adopted homeland. My roles as the former Consul of Colombia in New York City and the author of two books, "Caught in the Storm of War" and "La Guaca de las FARC," stand as testaments to my impact.
